Meet Dr. Monica Ashok
Dr. Monica Ashok is a board-certified pediatric dentist and Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She believes that each child is unique and her goal is to provide individualized, detail-oriented care with a strong emphasis on oral health education and prevention.
She received her doctoral training at Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine, where she graduated with several scholarships and awards, including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Predoctoral Student Award for great promise in the field.
She completed her specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at Columbia University - New York Presbyterian Hospital, where she was chosen to serve as Chief Resident. During her training, Dr. Ashok treated children of all ages including those with extensive medical and special health care needs. Her research on emergency dental care and treatment in the operating room was published in the Journal of Clinical Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Ashok has always enjoyed volunteering locally and internationally and has traveled to Honduras and Chile to provide dental care in underserved communities. Prior to pursuing dentistry, Dr. Ashok spent several years teaching and tutoring children in the math and sciences, which is how she discovered her passion for working with this age group.
Dr. Ashok lives with her husband in Tribeca and in her free time enjoys eating out, taking pilates classes, and spending time with her golden retriever.
